Global NewsbiteWorld Humanitarian Day Having just returned from Cambodia, I am filled with deep gratitude for the sacrifice and perseverance of our Global Partners. I am in awe of how God is at work, cross-pollinating through His Spirit with our Cambodian friends. While I will provide a fuller report on Cambodia in our next Global Newsbite, you can learn a bit about my visit with Zak and Andrea with Extreme Love as we also recognize during World Humanitarian Day. The photo above shows the view from the gym on the 15th floor of the hotel where I stayed in Phnom Penh. During my daily workouts, this view served as a powerful reminder to pray for a nation where over 99% of the population does not yet follow Jesus. Patrick |
Remembering Remarkable Humans on World Humanitarian Day - August 19Reflecting on Tenth Church’s Commitment to Global Compassion “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” "You are to lead by a different model. If you want to be the greatest, then live as one called to serve others. The path to promotion comes by having the heart of a bond-slave who serves everyone." Every year on August 19, World Humanitarian Day is observed—a time to honor the selfless dedication of those who tirelessly work to alleviate suffering and bring hope to the world’s most vulnerable populations. This day holds special significance for us at Tenth, as it resonates deeply with our mission to embody the love of Christ through acts of compassion and justice, both locally and globally. The Heart of Kingdom Humanitarianism: Being a Global Servant Citizen for the Kingdom of God How We Can Make a Difference Together. World Humanitarian Day is not just a time to acknowledge the efforts of others—it’s a call for each of us to consider how we can contribute to the global humanitarian cause. Join Us. We believe everyone has a role to play, whether through prayer, financial support, active participation in local and global initiatives or Justice Journeys. Pray with Us. Lift up our global partners, the communities they serve, and the many individuals working on the front lines of humanitarian crises. Give with Us. If you haven't given to Global recently, consider making a monthly financial contribution to Tenth Church’s Global Mission Fund. Your support directly impacts lives in more than 20 countries. Go with Us. If you feel called to take action, explore opportunities to join one of our upcoming Justice Journeys. There’s no better way to experience the power of humanitarian work than by serving on the ground with our global partners. Living Out Extreme Love in Phnom Penh CambodiaGlobal Workers - Zak Koftinoff and Andrea Aasen-Koftinoff In the fight against human trafficking and exploitation, few initiatives embody passion and dedication as profoundly as Extreme Love Cambodia. Led by Zak and his wife Andrea (CEO), this organization is on a mission to transform lives and communities through love, compassion, and practical support. Sent from Tenth Church, Zak is making significant strides in creating lasting change in one of Southeast Asia’s most vulnerable regions. The Vision of Extreme Love Cambodia
Zak and Andrea's vision is rooted in the belief that love can transform even the most challenging circumstances. Their leadership has been instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission, creating a ripple effect of positive change throughout Cambodia. I, Patrick, had the privilege of being in the home of Zak and Andrea, along with their adopted son, during my recent visit to Cambodia. I continue to marvel at how Extreme Love stands for justice while providing tangible hope for exploited children and families. The Impact of the Partnership Stories of Hope
Please pray regularly for Zak, Andrea, and the work of Extreme Love. Stay tuned for a dedicated prayer time for Zak and Andrea this fall. Learn more about what Extreme Love does in Cambodia and how you can support them. Tenth Church stands with over 20 Global Workers like Zak, who serve God through love and sacrifice, supporting local leaders in their efforts to build God’s kingdom.
